Bill Gates has called Googles' Chrome OS "more of the same" and says he is surprised that people are acting like its something new.
More of the same? Hardly, this isnt some bug ridden security nightmare that people are being strongarmed into upgrading to, and its different than "just another Linux distribution".
Then again, what can you expect from a man who hasnt had an original idea in his whole career and stole everything that made him rich from others? |

Today I went by the big church near our house to check and see if the red tailed hawk that had a nest there last year is back. I didnt see her but I heard a hawk cry a couple of times and saw the nest so I am hopeful there may be some pictures at some point.
I wound up at a small R/C airfield run by a local club Anderson Aero Modelers. There were two guy out there with planes when I stopped and a few more rolled up soon and a couple of them flew a little, it was fascinating. Those little planes really go and these guys were doing all sorts of tricks. Its fun to hang around old men, they were mainly bitching about their wives and comparing cataract surgery docs, I got a kick out of listening to them. One of them offered to take me up and let me fly sometime when he had hid trainer there and the proper radio rig, I think I am going to take him up on it and see if I can do it.

You cant really see it but the pilots are both hand painted balsa wood heads that look like pirates and behind them in the passenger area is a parrot, also hand painted. Its pretty cool :) |

I want to run with the bulls in Pamplona. I have wanted to do this since I was a kid and first found out about it and if I am ever financially able to I will. I cannot imagine a feeling of being more alive than getting out and running with those animals.
Yes people call me nuts and ask me why all the time. They say its dangerous or even deadly. But lets look at that. In the past 85 years, 15 total people have died in the running including one this year. The death this year was the first since 1995. Then there are the folks who say its animal cruelty and just evil. To them I have no reply, you cant argue with people who think animals should have rights, they have already decided I am wrong and its a waste of time sharing my opinions. So to them I simply say, dont run then.

So today was not a very good day to be a horse tester at Hoosier Downs.
I got to work a little early and found all of our parking spots blocked by the Equine Emergency crew. A horse had been given a drug and the drug killed it. This is a drug that horses normally get and a licensed vet issued the shot, no foul play or anything, just one of those things. But the death was a well known and liked horse with well known and liked owners so it sort of cast a pall over the whole area. I went about starting the day, opening up the barn and filling the water buckets, as other folks started arriving. Butch, Danny and I made the (in hindsight) mistake of talking about what a good day we had yesterday, the three of us spent a combined total of maybe 10 minutes in with our horses and everything went well. I should have known better, as we surely jinxed ourselves at that moment.

By this time most of the other cleaning had been done and it was almost time for the day to end. We finished up a little here and there and all left, everyone telling each other that tomorrow would be better. We hope, anyway... |

OK, so this is my second effort at a test post using a new LJ interface called Scribefire. The first post was eaten when I tried to use the live preview feature and couldnt get out of it.
Scribefire is an in browser journaling tool that lets you post to a variety of journal sites including LJ and I am giving it a try. I usually use Deepest Sender but heard about SF and wanted to try something new for a change. At first glance I see a few features that are cool, such as the ability to add Youtube videos from within the interface and the ability to make blockquotes without editing the HTML yourself. Little things but things I occasionally use to be sure.
A few things I havent found yet are a way to use LJ's moods or tags, but I suppose I could live without those if there was a reason. SF seems to support adding images and links about the same as DS, its pretty easy and little to no HTML required, which is good since I am lazy :)
And now a test image to see what thats like:
Well that was pretty simple. Must look and see if it lets you resize stuff easily, I dont like to muck about with my readers friends pages and stretch them out of proportion.
Also need to see if it supports LJ cuts and a few other little things but it seems to be a good tool so far. Updates as events warrant, you may be sure :)

Seriously, man. Even as downright retarded as the Republicans have been lately, and they are making Forrest Gump look like Albert Freaking Einstein, does anyone think its a good idea to let Sarah Palin run for President in 2012?

I think its wonderful idea. I desperately want four more years of Obama and cannot imagine a better way to get it than to let this dumb piece of Alaskan trailer trash run for the White House. Obama would beat her like she stole something from him. He would beat her like she was Rodney King. Like she was a Pagan at the Spanish Inquisition. (Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition)
But thats a dangerous game too. What if America goes Full Retard and this bitch somehow Bushed the election and got into office? Its not like our fat lazy asses would go all Iran and hit the streets or anything.

I managed to drop my cell phone into the sanitizing bin tonight. It was only underwater for a few seconds and seemed to work after being restarted but on the way home it started freaking out again. I have taken the battery and sim card out and am letting it dry out overnight, hopefully to be fine in the morning. Who knows, if it isnt, it may be a good time to find someone with room on their AT&T Family Plan and a willingness to take on another person. The person whose plan I am currently on will be leaving AT&T soon and I really dont want to. Hopefully I can find someone and if needed get a new phone... |

1) Hugs - I do like to give and get good hugs and for some reason daddysbeastie and I have always had perfect hugs. From the very first time I ever hugged her we both noticed that we fit together perfectly and its just wonderful. I highly recommend a hug from her if you can get one :)
2) Goals - I am actually not really sure what brought this one on. To me, my life is pretty scattered and minute by minute and not very goal oriented, this makes me wonder if maybe other people see me differently. *ponder*
3) Marriage - I was recently married to a very wonderful girlie/subbie/soulmate/hotasswoman and daddysbeastie was in attendance, having driven a very long way on a very sore ankle to be there. I cant tell you how much that meant to me.
4) Pervert - Not only is the Nerf Herder song by this name considered my theme song by anyone who really knows me and the song, (Google it, you will not be disappointed), I am quite proud of being a pervert, flirt, sadist and generally one of those people that make certain circles pray and get out the "You're going to Hell" literature. If Heaven is to be full of those people, I'd rather be with the cool folks downstairs, thanks.
5) Patient - Again, not too sure what this one means. I dont consider myself a very patient person. Maybe daddysbeastie has a gynecological fetish and wants a thorough exam? I doubt I could get that lucky so this probably means something else but I am not sure what :) |

According to this Wired.com article, Facebook has nefarious plans for Google and wants to go all medieval on their ass.
Yeah, good luck with that.
Facebook, you are a barely adequate social networking site, you used to be pretty good but have screwed that up by changing and "fixing" things that didnt need it on your site. You have jumped the shark and people will begin to realize that in the next few months or so and then what? You still try to take down one of the very backbones of the internet?
Why dont you try showing any profit at all first.
Believe me, it isnt hard to keep me happy on the internet. All I want is a place to stay in contact with people I like, love and need to talk to sometimes. Thats it. I dont need BS quizzes telling me what color I would be if I was a color or how girly I am...but only telling me this if I promise to bug several of my friends to also find this inane shit out about themselves. I like my friends. The reason they are my friends is because most of them dont give a shit what color they would be or how girly they are.
Taking on Google, huh. Be ready Facebook. Be ready to be chestkicked into a very deep pit by a sandal wearing giant yelling "This is GOOGLE!" and then never to be heard from again. The next great thing is just around the corner, you will be missed only as long as memories last on the internets, and I'm not sure there is an accurate time measurement short enough to express that. |
